There are a number of ways those eligible can get free or discounted bus travel.
Bus Pass
The ENCTS (English National Concessionary Travel Scheme) scheme provides free travel on local buses for qualifying people. The most obvious are those in receipt of a state pension, but there are a number of other classes of people who can claim one. The precise details vary by authority, see below for the local area.

Limitations on time of travel apply, but a card issued by the CPCA allows you to use a service starting within the CPCA area at any time (avoiding the normal national 9:30 am cutoff).
Tiger Pass
The Combined Authority has launched the Tiger bus pass, offering bus fares for just £1 for those under 25.
